Kristen Anne Bell, born 1980 in the US of America, is an actor and singer. Her birthplace and childhood was in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier) and is an RN, and Tom Bell, a television news director. Her family ancestry includes Polish (mother) as well as German, English, Irish and Scottish (father). Kristen's talent for entertainment was recognized at an early age. In 1992 she won her first acting role in the auditions for Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell was contacted by an agent by her mother at the age of 13 and was cast as a model on newspapers and television commercials. In addition to learning in private classes in acting, she launched her career at that time. Bell had a role that was not credited of Polish Wedding (1998), the film that was released in 1998. Bell went to Shrine Catholic High School, where she was a member of the musical and drama clubs. The Wizard of Oz production at the high school she attended earned her the leading Dorothy character. After graduation Bell relocated in New York City to attend the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts and studied musical theater. Bell left the school in 2001, and took on the part of Becky who is a character from Tom Sawyer. Her first film credit with Pootie Tang during 2001. The scene however it was cut and her appearance only appears in the credits at the end. Bell was in Broadway in The Crucible, a revival that featured Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
